How to play WHOT online
Nigerian WHOT against real players on x51.games. Here is everything you need for your first game.
Getting started
- 1Sign in. Create an account with your email and confirm it.
- 2Pick a table. Open WHOT, then join an open table or start your own. Choose Friendly (no coins at stake) or a coin stake.
- 3Wait for players. 2 to 4 players can sit at a WHOT table. Two-seat tables start automatically; larger tables start when the host is ready.
- 4Play your hand. On your turn, play a matching card or go to market. The first player to empty their hand wins.
WHOT rules on x51.games
- 2–4 players, 5 cards each. One non-special card starts the discard pile. The first player is chosen at random by the server.
- Play a card matching the shape or the number of the top card. WHOT 20 is wild.
- 1 Hold On, you play again. With the Hold On: one house rule, only the next player holds and misses their turn.
- 2 Pick Two, the next player picks 2 cards and misses their turn.
- 5 Pick Three, the next player picks 3 cards and misses their turn. With the No Pick 3 house rule, a 5 is a plain card.
- 8 Suspension, the next player misses their turn.
- 14 General Market, every other player picks 1 card and you play again.
- 20 WHOT, choose the next shape. The next card must be that shape (or another WHOT). With the No Whot house rule, all 20s are removed from the deck.
- Go to market: draw 1 card and your turn ends, even if the card you drew could be played. You may go to market even while holding a playable card. A card is never played for you.
- Pick Two, Pick Three and General Market penalties are drawn for you automatically. If the market has fewer cards than the penalty, you pick what is left and the rest is cancelled, the missed turn still applies.
- With the Count rule the game ends immediately when the last market card is drawn, even if a player can still play. The market is never reshuffled. With the Rollover rule, played cards are securely reshuffled into a new market, keeping the top card out.
- At a Count finish, or if Rollover cannot refill and no player can play, every remaining hand is revealed. Each card counts its printed number (WHOT = 20). Lowest card total wins. If tied, the player with fewer cards in hand wins.
- If still tied, the match is drawn and every stake is refunded. No further game is dealt.
- A match is one game: the first player to empty their hand wins the match and the pot straight away.
- Turn timer: if it runs out you go to market; drawing the last Count market card ends the game. Leaving the game or missing two turns in a row eliminates you: your cards leave play and your stake stays in the pot.
Each table shows its chosen house rules before you join. See fees for how stakes and payouts work.
